Solar shading – effective with micro lamellas

MicroShade™ solar shading is built into two- or three-layer glazing and comprises a very thin and transparent layer of micro lamellas adapted to the movement of the sun. Sunlight from low angles passes relatively unimpeded between the micro lamellas, while light from higher angles is blocked. Easy and simple, but genius. MicroShade™ allows an unrestricted view from the inside all year round. The benefits include:

Micro lamellas protect against the sun

MicroShade™ consists of transparent strips of micro lamellas that can be mounted in the cavity of two- or three-layer low-E glazing during production. The strips consist of a large number of small perforations – a patented micro lamella structure. They are angled so they shade direct sunlight while allowing an unrestricted view through the pane. The strip is less than 0.2 mm thick stainless steel. On a typical summer's day, when the sun is at its highest in the sky, the energy from the sunlight is reduced by up to 90%.

Architectural freedom with glass facades

MicroShade™ promotes architectural freedom, as it sets new standards for the relationship between solar shading, light transmittance and aesthetics. Compared to external solar shading, MicroShade™ is a simple, effective and flexible solution, ideal for most facades.

The standard height of the MicroShade™ strip is 140 mm and the strips are stacked on top of each other to match the height of the glazing. If desired, glazing with only partial MicroShade™ coverage is available.

Maintenance-free solar shading

MicroShade™ solar shading is built into the glazing and thus maintenance-free. The only maintenance cost is standard window cleaning as there is no wear from wind or harsh weather conditions. MicroShade™ is easy to install, as it comes pre-installed in standard two- and three-layer glazing.
