Pioneering solar shading now heading for the German marketPhotoSolar A/S, the specialist in transparent solar shading, is setting up a sales office on the German market. The move is with effect from 1 January, 2010 and is against the backdrop of a deep crisis in the construction industry. “Heat from the sun, which can mean excessive temperatures, is also a big problem in Germany. It means there’s great potential for our MicroShade™ solar shading," says Philip Wilstrup, Manager of PhotoSolar's new sales office in Germany. He adds: “German architects have received it well because it’s a simple, straightforward solution to many aspects of poor indoor climate caused by large glass facades.” The company expects to win new orders soon in Germany for new building projects as well as renovation works carried out by public bodies. Solar shading with MicroShade™ is pioneering – it comprises micro-perforations that are preinstalled in ordinary insulating glazing units and glass facade elements. It offers effective shade from the sun without detracting from the view. Indoor climate is significantly improved and there is less need for ventilation or air conditioning. No maintenance is needed. About PhotoSolarPhotoSolar specialises in advanced methods of transparent solar shading, as well as solar cell solutions. Its mission is to create better working environments and reduce energy consumption in modern buildings with glass facades. PhotoSolar is technology- and knowledge-based, and works closely with bodies such as the Danish Technological Institute. It was formed in 2003 and is owned by, among others, the Danish Technological Institute and Vækstfonden, a Danish state investment fund. |
